Established in 1999 and primarily investing in businesses with an enterprise value of between €50 million and €1 billion, our strategy is focused on businesses characterised by strategic qualities that provide strong downside protection. Using our capital, financing expertise and sector knowledge, we work in partnership with management to increase shareholder value by highlighting the long-term stable cash flow characteristics of these businesses.
About
Our focus is on western Europe. We are a diverse team that speaks a wide range of European languages. We have a network of Senior Representatives and Advisers providing local presence and intelligence in all major European countries.
Since inception, STAR has raised and successfully realised the STAR I and STAR II funds and we are currently investing from the STAR III Fund.

Team
STAR’s team has a wide range of skills spanning sectors, assets and financing types, combined with an extensive network of contacts that complement our strategic focus.
The majority of the senior team has worked together since STAR I and has been significantly involved in all of STAR’s investments. The three Managing Partners have worked together since inception.
Portfolio
We work at board level in partnership with our management teams to shape the strategic direction of our investments.
STAR gives its portfolio companies access to its wide network of Senior Advisers and Non-Executive Directors to support business development activities. In addition, we provide additional growth capital for such activities and have done so on over two-thirds of our investments.
