STAR Capital Partners announces the sale of its investment in Oxford Aviation Academy

16 May 2012

STAR Capital Partners (‘STAR’) announces the sale of its shareholding in Oxford Aviation Academy (‘OAA’), to CAE, a global leader in modelling, simulation and training for civil aviation and defence.

OAA was formed by STAR Capital in February 2007 following the acquisitions of General Electric Commercial Aviation Training and SAS Flight Academy. In mid-2007, the business acquired Oxford Aviation Training and the group was rebranded as Oxford Aviation Academy or OAA. Under STAR Capital’s ownership, OAA has grown significantly to become the world's leading independent provider of aviation training, personnel solutions and technical support services, operating from 16 cities with 12 training centres across the globe. As well as providing strategic and financial support to develop the business, STAR Capital also supported the continued growth of OAA by acquiring Parc Aviation in July 2008 and General Flying Service in September 2008, both leaders in their fields, serving to expand OAA’s scale and breadth.
