Europe's leading Independent training organisation rebrands to offer expanded full service capabilities

4 February 2008

A new force in aviation training - Oxford Aviation Academy - has been created today with a change of brand image. The new group will progressively incorporate all its global services under this branding and in due course will legally change the company name as local regulatory requirements permit. Oxford Aviation Academy will ultimately combine the UK, Far East, Scandinavian and Baltic TRTO/FTO facilities previously operated by GCAT Flight Academy with Oxford Aviation Training and BAe Systems Training.

Oxford Aviation Academy now has the capability to offer training to the aviation industry over the complete spectrum from EASA 147 approved engineering training, Pilot and Cabin Crew training, to JAA approved ab-initio and Type Rating training as well as Base and Line Training. It is now the largest independent aviation training organisation in Europe and ranks among the top providers in the world.

Oxford Aviation Academy operates from 10 locations in Europe, Asia and North America and the courses available meet every requirement that customers demand. Oxford Aviation Academy can provide ab-initio training for JAA compliant professional licences from its facilities in Oxford, UK and Phoenix USA. Training is usually concluded with a Jet Operations course to prepare cadets for the transition from light piston-engined aircraft to commercial jet and turbo-prop operations.

When qualified pilots progress to Type Rating training, Oxford Aviation Academy can provide a wide range of JAA approved Type Rating courses covering both rotor and fixed wing, ranging from Bell, Dash-8, Jetstream and SAAB 340 through a range of Airbus, Boeing, McDonnell Douglas, Fokker and Embraer types under approvals issued by JAA, Chinese and Hong Kong CAD authorities. Oxford Aviation Academy is also a manufacturer approved facility for Airbus, Embraer, SAAB and BAe Systems.

In addition to type-rating courses Oxford Aviation Academy can offer 'differences' training, instructor training and command courses along with specialised courses on a wide range of associated subjects. Cabin Crew training is available for most aircraft types and Oxford Aviation Academy is also fully approved to provide EASA 147 approved engineer training to operators around the world.
